Global Sustainability Frameworks: An Indian Perspective
The faculty members from the Department of RISE, CGC Landran actively
participated in an expert session on “Global Sustainability Frameworks: An Indian Perspective” organized by the Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh College of Technology, in collaboration with the Centre for Compliance, Nature and Anthropocene Policy (CCNAP India Pvt. Ltd.), Mohali, on March 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Conference Room, Block 6. The session was intended for faculty members, researchers, and incubated start-ups to understand emerging global sustainability regulations and frameworks.
Dr. Ashok Kumar (Director Academics, CGC Landran) felicitated the guest speakers. Prof. Dr Palki Sahib Kaur (Director Principal, CCT) welcomed the speakers. The session was delivered by Mr. Dilraj Singh (Founder & Director, CCNAP India Pvt. Ltd.) and Mr. Vishal Singh (Co-Founder & Director, CCNAP India Pvt. Ltd.). Mr. Dilraj Singh shared valuable insights into the evolution of global environmental governance and sustainability policies and discussed important milestones in global sustainability frameworks. A key focus of the session was on carbon footprint assessment, carbon rating mechanisms, and carbon credit systems, which are essential components of regulatory compliance, climate risk management, and sustainable business strategies. The speakers also explained how European Union sustainability regulations are increasingly influencing global trade and how Indian enterprises and start-ups must adapt to these frameworks. Speaking about the Jugaad Mela to be held on 8 April 2026, Mr. Vishal Singh emphasized its role in celebrating Punjab’s grassroot innovators.
The guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Neha Sharma (Dean Research, CGC Landran) played a pivotal role fostering the active participation of the faculty members. The session further explored the importance of integrating sustainability concepts into academic curricula and research initiatives. The event concluded with an interactive discussion, encouraging participants to adopt sustainability-driven approaches in research, innovation, and industry practices.
