Drone Workshop
The Department of RISE & Electronics and Communication
Engineering (ECE), CEC, CGC Landran, Mohali, in collaboration with Sofly Innovations Pvt. Ltd., organized a one-day workshop on “3D’s of Drones: Design, Development, and Demonstration” with the aim of introducing students to drone technology and inspiring them to explore entrepreneurial opportunities in this rapidly growing field. The workshop began with a warm welcome and an inaugural address by Prof. (Dr.) Vinay Bhatia (Head of the Department ECE) sharing insightful and motivating thoughts on innovation, project development, and entrepreneurship, encouraging students to take up drone-based projects and consider drones as a promising career path. The session was led by Mr. Munish Pandit (Drone Engineer at Sofly Innovations Pvt. Ltd.) who held hands-on practical learning, explaining the basics of drone technology, key components, assembly techniques, and real-world applications, while also highlighting future career and start-up opportunities in the drone ecosystem. A live drone flight demonstration was a major highlight of the workshop, capturing students’ interest and helping them connect theory with real-time practice. The event was successfully coordinated by Er. Sonia Jindal (Vertical Head Drone Technology), Dr. Deepika Sharma (Publication Head), Er. Jaspreet Kaur (Vertical Head Cyber Security) and Dr. Gurwinder Singh (Young Professional) with valuable inputs from Dr. sukhdeep kaur(Department of ECE) and Dr. Pooja Saini (Department of ECE). Their dedicated efforts ensured the smooth conduct and academic impact of the workshop. Overall, the workshop provided students with meaningful industry exposure, practical learning, and motivation to explore innovation and entrepreneurship through drone technology.
