The Department of RISE conducted an outreach awareness session on
Cybersecurity, Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), and Entrepreneurship at Mata Sahib Public School, Sawara, District Mohali. The primary objective of the session was to sensitize school students about emerging technological domains, innovation protection, and entrepreneurial thinking. The event was conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Neha Sharma (Dean R&D, Department of RISE) whose vision and support played a vital role in its successful execution. The session was led by Er. Jaspreet Kaur (Vertical Head, Cybersecurity Lab) along with the RISE team members Dr. Gurwinder Singh (Young Professional) and Dr. Shelly Singla (Patent Analyst), providing significant insights into the fundamentals of cybersecurity, and the significance of safeguarding innovations through patents, copyrights, and trademarks. Overall, the outreach session motivated students to explore emerging technologies, and understand how engineering and innovation can address real-world challenges. The program served as an effective platform to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical technological applications, encouraging young minds to pursue innovative technologies.
